• Nüwa certified fabrics are available in both Recycled and Virgin materials. We specialize in
fabrics made from Nylon, Recycled Nylon, Polyester, and Recycled Polyester.

  • Weaving is the process where the long warp (vertical running) yarn on the beam is interlaced with the weft (horizontal running) yarns to create all kinds of exciting weaves. Our primary machines are water jet looms that use only water to drive the weft yarn across the warp. Our plant uses almost 3,600 tons of water per day.

Thanks to Nüwa’s state-of-the-art recycling system we reuse 70% of the water required for weaving.

  • The Dyeing process has always been the most resource and energy intensive of all the steps in a textile production cycle. On average about 150 liters (40 gallons) of waters are used to dye one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of fabric. That water needs tremendous energy to heat it to over a boiling temperature in order for the color to adhere onto the fabric. The entire process takes about 3-4 hours to complete consuming tremendous amounts of energy and water the whole time.

With our highly efficient in-house water recycling system and a new generation of water saving dyeing machines (think eco-friendly front loading washing machines), we use an average of 102 liters (27 gallons). That is a 30% reduction in water usage and heating energy!

Heating energy at one of our dyeing houses comes from an in-house integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plant, a clean coal energy solution. IGCC uses coal much more efficiently by converting coal into a synthetic gas prior to combustion.

We have bluesign® and Oeko-Tex® certified facilities.

  • Impregnating fabrics with coatings or laminates is essential to increase the performance and functionality of products. Benefits such as element protection, fire retardancy, high abrasion resistance, and other performance features all depend on coating quality. However the coating process requires a great deal of solvent adhesives that may emit harmful volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) to the atmosphere if not captured correctly.

Thanks to Nüwa’s state-of-the-art recycling system we reuse 70% of the water required for weaving.

Small steps separate Nüwa Textiles from its competition. Each one marks a sharp evolution that has moved the company ever further from the dark ages of woven fabric to a modern era of ecological consciousness and reduced energy consumption. The result is a cleaner and greener product.

Nüwa certified fabrics are woven in state of the art plants with worker friendly conditions, lighting and ventilation, and strict adherence to labor laws. Our Textile Engineers wring the waste out of our factories and make sure that Nüwa products are designed for performance.

They create using nylon, polyester, recycled nylon, and recycled polyester. Our 1,300 weaving machines produce over 22 million yards of fabric monthly, custom woven for major manufacturers throughout the globe.
